Adam Edwin Proctor
British 1864-1913Proctor was a member of the Royal Society of British Artists and the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours.
Proctor was born at Brook and lived there for most of his life and many of his paintings were of the Shere area. It was known that many of these paintings were given away to local people in return for goods and services and are believed to still be treasured by the same families today.
Amongst his favoured subjects were the places of Shere, around Paddington Pond, near Abinger Hammer and Gomshall on the Tillingbourne.
Proctor died on 27 May 1913 in Guildford.
