Henry Pember Smith

Henry Pember Smith learned to paint without a teacher and acquired a reputation as an accomplished landscape painter fairly early in his career. He took an extended trip to Venice, and subsequently produced many interesting works on subjects he had encountered there. Smith also painted numerous views of New Jersey. He was a member of the American watercolour society.
