British 1808-1895 Born in Pen-ryn, Cornwall in 1808, Williams was known as a landscape painter, his subjects also included river, estuary and coastal scenes. Nearly all his views are from Devon and Cornwall. He worked both in oil and watercolour and lived in Plymouth during the majority of his life, later moving to Bath, Torquay and finally Topsham, where he died in 1895. He exhibited his work from 1841 to 1876, 34 at the Royal Academy, 40 at the British Institution and 56 at Suffolk Street.
