Abraham Hulk Snr

Abraham Hulk Snr was born in 1813 in Amsterdam. Hulk was a painter of marine subjects. During his career Hulk exhibited at the Royal Academy and Suffolk Street. He was a skilful marine painter who delighted in the portrayal of light and was always most conscientious in his depiction of detail. Hulk’s brother ‘Johannes Frederick Hulk’ was also a competent artist but specialised in Architectural views.
