German c. 1900 The painter Anna Schirbaum joined the association ‘The Hiddensoer Artists Covenant’ which was founded in 1919. The association of painters had already made a name for themselves in the art world and came from all over Germany to the Baltic Sea. Founded by the painter Henni Lehmann, the group of female painters met in the so called “Blue Barn” in Vitte, next to Lehmann’s house in the summer months, where the group would work and hold exhibitions.
