Artists Biography
Luigi Bechi
Italian 1830–1919Bechi’s vision of rural life is delectable, favouring children set amongst their secure family surroundings. With his warm range of colours he would craft some of the most important canvases to have come out of Italy during the late 19th Century. Each canvas proved extremely individual and unique with their level of sentiment. His attractive and well observed models echo space and relate perfectly to one another to give the viewer a story to translate.
The Museums of Florence, Genes and Madrid hold works by Bechi.
