Frederick E. J. Goff
British 1855 - 1931He exhibited at the Royal Academy, the New Watercolour Society, the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour and the Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts.
Goff is best known for his small watercolour views of London, which catch the mood of the late Victorian city. With Magnifying glass in hand he would paint some of the most alluring views of this magnificent city. Goff would capture the most minute of details in these pieces not skimping or cutting corners. Like Turner’s views of the Thames, Goff has successfully captured the bustle of Thames life with all its great architectural landmarks playing impressive backdrops.
