French 1836 Leon Emile Caille was a French genre painter, who was born at Merville in 1836. Caille was schooled with L. Cogniet and Edouard Castan. He was a member of the ‘Artistes Français’ and exhibited his work at the Salon from 1861, also exhibiting in London during 1878.
