Thomas Worsey was a Birmingham flower painter who trained as a japanner (painter upon Papier Mache) but turned to flower painting in about 1850, gaining good practice.

He exhibited at the Royal Academy between 1856 and 1874, also exhibiting at the British Institution, Suffolk Street and the Portland Gallery between 1858 and 1874 and also in principal provincial towns.

The Art Journal of 1859 comments on two paintings. The first being “Primulas”, exhibited at the Portland Gallery; “These flowers are painted with much freshness and delicacy”. The second work of “Apple Blossoms”, which was exhibited at Suffolk Street; “This in its way is really charming, the feeling of the little picture is fascinating, and its truth un-peachable”.
