William Henry Knight

William Henry Knight was a painter of genre subjects, he gave up a career as a solicitor to become a painter and went to London in 1845, entering the Royal Academy Schools.



He was at first a portrait painter but later he turned to humorous genre scenes, which often included children.

His pictures were mostly of small size and amongst his works were the titles " Boy's Snowballing " 1853, " The Young Naturalist " 1857 and " The Lost Change " 1859.

Knight exhibited at the Royal Academy between 1846 and 1862, he also exhibited at the British Institution and Suffolk Street
